las vegas

we arrived in vegas about 4 hours ago. i personally am looking forward to leaving asap. i am not really into this whole scene, to much noise and far to many lights for me. we are staying at the main st hotel, brewery and r.v. park. there rv park is just a big parking lot w/ electrical, water and sewer hook-ups, though they have a nice hot  shower that was very enjoyable. we spent the last 4 days on the quechan reservation north of yuma. we were on the land of Preston Arrowweed. and his daughter Penelope. helped do some cleaning around the land and also helped penelope clean her trailer a bit. i did 2 sweats of 2 rounds each. the last round of the 2nd sweat almost got me good, i had to leave early, though it turned out to be just a minute or so ahead of time.
we will take part in a unitarian universalist service tomorrow and then do a walk in the memory of Jigme Norbu, the Dalai Lamas nephew who was hit by a suv and killed on 2-14. we may be walking out of vegas on monday or tues.

"as you look all around you
tell me what do you see
so much in our vision
is such a mystery

how much is truly real
in what you feel you believe
do you make the world a better place
in what it is you seek

every action that we take
it must have positive intent
or you might just end up
feeling utter remorse and bitter repent

this life we live is a blessing
& if there is a heaven it is truly heaven sent
in each soul there is a beauty we must envision w/ in our minds eye
and see beyond our ego-centered ignorance and discontent

Arizona

wow, a crazy week, but then whats new. we left austin a day late and after a cold spell had blown in.
went just 80 miles the first day and stopped to get the r.v. worked on. because of the cold it was not able to happen so we drove the next day to fort stockton. because of the cold we also used up all our propane on the heater the previous night so when we got to ft. stockton we were out of propane and had to spend a night in a motel. we woke to snow thou it was not real heavy and after some talk of spending another day there we headed down the road and drove to las cruces, nm. the next day we headed in to tucson, az-where we are now. the r.v. suffered some damage to the water pipe elbows from the bitter cold that we had endured and so there wee some unexpected repairs that had to happen.

i walked out of tucson today (though we will "offically" leave tomorrow, and I did 21 miles along the frontage road along I-10.
